Joe and Yun in Music School
I came to CH because my family and I thought that the school would give me the best opportunity to succeed in life. I am getting great educational opportunities, extra help in the evenings through supportive prep, and so many sporting facilities.
I really enjoy spending time in the Design and Technology school because of the equipment it has at my disposal. I love to design and create products here and product design is my favourite subject.
I am looking forward to succeeding academically at CH, but also in music and in sport. I am currently part of the school marching band and the concert band which give me the opportunity to practice regularly and improve quickly because of it.
The best part of the school day for me is when we play sport in the afternoon. I’m part of the school swimming squad and find exercise really enjoyable and relaxing.
When I’m older I’d like to go into architecture or engineering, although apart from that I am uncertain.
I chose to come to CH because of the culture and tradition associated with it, but also because of the excellent facilities here – especially music and drama. Apart from being a top academic school, it has many clubs and bands on offer too.
I always laugh at CH – it is unavoidable at boarding school and at CH in particular. I suppose I just enjoy being with my friends.
Music school is one of my favourite places – it is almost a second home! I just love the way it’s so big, yet cosy and welcoming at the same time. I enjoy spending time there in the evenings when I play my French horn before relaxing back at house afterwards.
I participate in the symphony orchestra, marching band, concert band, training band, wind nonet and have music practice twice a week. All these activities allow me to do my favourite things, which is to make music! I love being one slice of a massive group all making harmony together – it’s magical!
I also participate in drama productions. The theatre is just so amazing here! – Hardly any schools have a theatre like ours.
When I’m older I want to be a musician or an actress. If that falls through then I want to be a music teacher, here at CH!
I chose to come to CH because I think the school’s ethos would help me in the future. I’m getting a good education, not just academic, but in everything that I’ll need to help me later in life. It is the people that I like the most here – they tend to accept each other much more than people at other schools.
My favourite part of the school day is marching because I love being part of something that is so individual to the school.
My favourite place is the tuck shop as you can buy essential things like toothpaste and shampoo and it’s nice to get some sweets occasionally too!
I am currently in the U14 hockey team, I love sport, especially hockey and netball. I really enjoy playing at a higher level as I progress through the school years.
Lessons are fun – recently people in my biology class had to pretend to be cilia cells which made me laugh! My joint favourite subjects are chemistry, physics, and food and nutrition but I’m not sure what I want to do when I’m older – maybe a doctor, dentist, vet or an orthodontist.
I chose to come to CH because of its diversity and traditions, and the school grounds are stunning. I feel that I am benefiting from many opportunities the school provides and in particular, I have now gained a place at Harlequins Rugby Club.
I enjoy representing CH in team sports as I feel that I am able to give something back to the school in this way. I am currently part of the athletics A team as well as the U15 Rugby team for which I’m looking forward to hopefully representing CH in the 1st XV team.
I love sports and my favourite subject is sports science; learning how different parts of the body work. I enjoy going to the gym to work out – it helps me to go back to my studies more focused afterwards.
Lunch time is the best part of the school day because I love the tradition of marching into lunch. But overall, my favourite thing about CH is the family atmosphere. I have made many friends here, and because we live together, we are even tighter.
I’m not sure what I want to do when I am older yet, but it is going to be something that I enjoy!
