Christ’s Hospital – life changing for a lifetime

The ethos of Christ’s Hospital is built on identifying children who have the capability to transform their lives but not the means.

Your donation to the Blue Fund supports young children throughout their entire seven year education at Christ’s Hospital. Pupils supported by the Blue Fund benefit from a school environment that successfully fosters intellectual, moral, emotional and physical growth for high potential children, as well as critically, the financial support they need.
Christ’s Hospital is committed to giving children from all walks of life the benefits of a first class education in an environment that instils confidence and self-reliance. This broad social mix, combined with a highly supportive boarding environment, high academic standards, rich tradition, and unrivalled co-curricular opportunities, ensures pupils leave equipped to succeed in a diverse, challenging and ever more competitive world.

I was really excited when I found out that I had gained a place at CH because it is a great school! I have settled in really well and everyone around me is kind and caring. I have most enjoyed football, marching and swimming. I didn’t really know how to swim and used to not really like it, but now I’m a bit more confident and I’m starting to enjoy it. I have also started playing rugby which I have never done before coming to CH.

What I enjoy about boarding school is the fact that you get to stay with your friends and you have to take responsibility for yourself. I was feeling pretty nervous at first but the older boys in my house made me feel at home. This term I am really looking forward to the House Block competitions where we play sports against other houses.

I was really excited when I found out I’d got into CH, but I was also very nervous because it is much bigger than my old school. I wanted to come to CH because it sounded amazing and everybody was really friendly every time we came to see it.
I have settled in really well because of my nursemaid. I have also bonded with the other second formers in my house who are lots of fun, like everybody else. Matron is very helpful and kind to everybody. My house also has lots of other people on hand to help, which is good.

The subjects I like the best so far are English, Latin and Design Technology (DT) because they are really interesting and the teachers are nice. I’m enjoying DT because my first school didn’t do it and it’s one of my favourite subjects. My favourite hobbies are Netball, dancing, and cooking because I can be active and I don’t really like just sitting around!
