The ethos of Christ’s Hospital is built on identifying children who have the capability to transform their lives but not the means.
The countless experiences and chances that you get in Christ’s Hospital make it unique. For me, events like House singing, House drama, sports matches and music performances make CH very special. I have had so many opportunities; before I came to this school I had never even played hard-ball cricket, but now I really enjoy it and it is one of my favourite sports.
The thing I enjoy most about boarding is being in a very friendly community where you are around people you know and like. It is great living with your friends as you can get to know them a lot better than you would if you were in a non-boarding school.
I am really looking forward to joining the LE (Year 9) and being able to do the new lessons that I have chosen which I think I will love.
I was really excited when I found out I’d got into CH, but I was also very nervous because it is much bigger than my old school. I wanted to come to CH because it sounded amazing and everybody was really friendly every time we came to see it.
I have settled in really well because of my nursemaid. I have also bonded with the other second formers in my house who are lots of fun, like everybody else. Matron is very helpful and kind to everybody. My house also has lots of other people on hand to help, which is good.
The subjects I like the best so far are English, Latin and Design Technology (DT) because they are really interesting and the teachers are nice. I’m enjoying DT because my first school didn’t do it and it’s one of my favourite subjects. My favourite hobbies are Netball, dancing, and cooking because I can be active and I don’t really like just sitting around!
